Career tree

If I were to pursue a career in the photography, I was chosen to become a Graphic Designer, Art director, or a cinematographer. The reason I would choose to be a graphic designer would be because the employment is not tied to just one industry. Companies are always upgrading logos or slogans. Also contently leaning something new is allowing me to learn about what makes different industries tick. Hopefully in New York. Because it is the place many industries are it offers a lot in terms of opportunities for graphic designers. Not to mention the average salary that is ranked number 3. But the prohibitive cost of living prevents New York from taking the top spot in our rankings The average graphic designer in New York makes $57,427 annually. The average hourly rate for a graphic designer is $27.61/hr. This compares greatly because the average salary of designer is $49,450. The responsibilities consist of work with other creative team members to produce content. Create guidelines for how logos and other branding materials should be displayed and used. Help make design choices for all content your company will use.

The reason Art director interest me is because of the responsibilities they take on. responsible for the visual style and images in magazines, newspapers, product packaging, and movie and television productions. They create the overall design for a project, and direct others who develop the artwork or layouts. Vogue magazines are something that will always catch my eye for the cover. They have such an amazing photographer and sense of style that always catches my attention. I would love to take this career is California because it is the best state to be an art director. The Average Annual Salary is $148,398. It will be easier to maintain a family is a large house with this salary.

My final option would be a cinematographer. A family friend has interest me in this career because he plans to pursue it. He sparked my interest teaching me the fun responsibilities I would have as in sets up the shots through planning and coordination with director, camera operator and other members of crew, monitors the shots through use of a monitor or viewfinder when live action is being recorded simultaneously. Stores and organizes footage from an attempt to see if it meets quality standards or work out any problems. By having so many responsibilities it will allow me to continuously grow and to also grow an inventive mind. By overseeing every little thing will make me an export in all these areas. I would pursue this career in Atlanta, Georgia as Georgia has the most robust incentive program in the country. Cinematographer job is above the average in Georgia as it would be $81,518 per year. These three jobs really sparked my interest and I see myself in the future pursing them.

Keith Harring Inspired work.

Keith Harring’s Favorite Work of Mine

The reason this work of Keith Harring is because i create a personal connection. I feel I understand the struggle of the larger man; it is i feel about school and my future. I put so much weight on my shoulders; my parent’s validation, needed to pass all my classes with an A, and to go to the perfect college. Each of those small people in my opinion represent a different dilemma i experience. I am so worried for the future in hopes to have a family and a well paying job but those all have little steps to work. The tiredness of the body language is expressed clearly, as he holds them, his arms dangle down in despair, his body hunched over from feeling as a failure.

Body, Shape, Form

This series felt a little of success and some parts are failures, the monochromatic does help emphases the shapes and forms. I believe the second, third, and fourth image follow the prompt while the rest do not 100%. I believe the first image was not a success because the quality is not good enough. The last image i feel does not entirely focus on the given prompt of illustrating forms. Overall, this work makes me feel mysterious due to the monochromatic hue; black, grey, and white make me wonder the color and focus and the brightest parts.

Surrealism- My Soulmate

  • The concept of my work is to get across to the audience how I feel when you have met your soulmate. The person becomes their safe place. Their home and they feel the need to have them to survive. Two different worlds are colliding representing how two people’s lives clash together. They were once alone but when a person is in love they want to do everything together, become one world. They create one planet, one world they have together.
  • Composition is important in photography because it helps grab the audience attention. The audience is not going to look at boring pictures, they will look for a photo they can connect to or stands out.
  • Bright colors in photography will always catch my attention. When scrolling through a page the color red and yellow will make me stop and take a moment to appreciate whatever it is.
  • Museums are not something I visit often however the latest museum I remember was on a family trip and we saw the history of mummies.  It inspired me to photograph how they look after so many years. It is interesting to me to see the change it has.

  1. Aperture is when your camera will vary the exposure settings depending on the aperture value. Shutter speed is when it gives you complete control over shutter speed while making all the other settings automatically, according to the selected value. ISO value depending on the lighting conditions.
  2. When you either want to freeze motion or eliminate camera shake without using the flash.
  3. In aperture priority mode the camera changed the exposure setting depending on how much light you have. Shutter speed chooses the speed after deciding on the aperture.
  4. There are three different types of AF: One-shot A, Servo AF. and Al Autofocus.  They change themselves because they focus alone.
  5. In incident light meter measures the light falling onto your subject, it measures the flash light which can make or break a picture it is has to little or too much exposure
  6. White balance is when the camera’s setting is adjusting to the color in an image. You would need to change it if it isn’t capturing the color correctly.
  7. Shallow depth keeps one part of your image focused and the remaining with blur.  Shallow is having little depth; significantly less deep than wide while deep is having its bottom far down.
  8. Metering is how your camera determines what the correct shutter speed and aperture should be, depending on the amount of light that goes into the camera and the ISO. Drive mode is when you press the shutter button and it records a single photo.
  9. Exposure Compensation allows photographers to override exposure settings picked by camera’s light meter, in order to darken or brighten images before they are captured.
